ryder's bad day

Horror! I witnessed my beloved cat Ryder get attacked today. I was in the front room & saw the lab we were fostering dragging her by the head around the yard & tossing her limp body around. I couldn't do anything but scream bloody murder. I ran outside to pull the dog off my cat & he dropped her in a heap. She was muddy, wet, hurt & blood was pouring out of her nose and mouth. Of course, seeing her like this killed me- I started bawling. I screamed to my mom to get in the car, wrapped Ryder up in a towel & hauled ass to the er-vet.

She stayed in the vet all day, got the works. She is at the overnight care vet hospial now & is stable. She'll live, but we are not sure the extent of the injuries. Luckily she is a trooper and didn't sustain any life-threatening damage to her little 6 lb body. I am so thankful I was there today. Usually I wouldn have been at my 9am kickboxing class, but something in my gut said I should stay home (cue Twilight Zone music).

My poor kitty. It was a horrible day for her, and very traumatic for me too.

Ryders diagnosis: broken jaw, ruptured sinus cavity, fluid leaking into her skull, puncture wound on the top of her head & jaw (where the dog grabbed her), and just really fucking scared.
